New Year, New Me

Dear reader,

A very happy 2015 from my heart to yours. I hope you had a splendid last evening of 2014 with lots of good food, drink and fireworks. Sadly, I got to experience none of those joys since the authorities stuck me into bed at 9:30pm. (So what if I was tired and fell asleep right away. That is NO excuse, you hear me?!) But the new me will not hold it against the authorities that they treated me so carelessly. The new me will embrace them and forgive them and then hold on for dear life and never let go of that neck again!

Peace, love and harmony.

The first day of 2015 we spent at a park close to our house where peacocks and all kinds of other birds run around freely. The peacocks and ducks were lovely but one of the herons wanted to peck my eye out and would have gotten his way too if it weren’t for the heroic hand of Fernando that shot between its evil beak and my trusting face. (And where were the authorities here? Where, I ask??? Deep breaths, Small Paw, deep breaths… New year, new you.)

The next outing was a bit more peaceful. We went to a botanical garden which was oddly full of glass. It was pretty neat though and they had ducklings too so all around an enjoyable morning.

In other news, I’ve started taking swimming classes and I am kicking baby butt! Well, except for today where apparently I behaved ‘poorly’ and only got one sticker after class instead of two. (Someone explain to me why screaming and hanging on to Catering’s neck for 30 minutes is considered poor? I thought that was a helluva performance!) But I’m still awesome in the pool. Suck it Michael Phelps.

Anyway, time for my nightly meditation, a healthy drink and some light intellectual stimulation. Also known as bath, book and bed. With a bottle of milk. Some things don’t change, no matter how many new years come along.

Lots of kisses and hugs from sunny paradise, dear reader,
Small Paw
